Summary:
The Night Operations is responsible for the managing and coaching of staff to maintain evening store conditions, maximize sales and gross profits and protect company assets.
The Closing Manager acts as a role model for being the best merchant and customer advocate with the goal of creating an excellent customer experience.
He/she also promotes Associate engagement by living the Sunrise ShopRite Values and offering training and development opportunities as well as empowerment activities to Associates.
The Night Operations Manager ensures compliance with all company and governmental safety and sanitation standards.
In addition, the Night Operations Manager coordinates the training and delegation of duties to the evening staff as well as the discipline and termination of Associates as required.

Responsibilities:
The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Ensure customer satisfaction by promoting and maintaining the highest standards of customer service, store conditions and sale item availability.
Communicate, observe and enforce all store rules and company policies to Associates.
Observe all local, state and federal health and sanitation regulations as well as compliance to QA standards and ABC regulations (if applicable) throughout the store.
Be alert to Loss Prevention and Security issues.
Ensures that all department Associates comply with safety policies and procedures.
Continually inspect all department conditions, staffing, service level, and product levels.
Review general store conditions and any and all Associate, customer and loss prevention issues with Store Manager.
Communicate all sick calls, delivery concerns, and any other operational issues to the opening Manager.
Communicate with General Manager on a nightly basis via the Closing Manager's Status Call.
Ensure that store sanitation standards are maintained, including floors, restrooms, entrance and exits and parking area.
Coordinate cleanliness and maintenance needs with both Sunrise maintenance staff and outside contractor cleaning crew.
Reinforce and support all departmental training and development programs ensuring a knowledgeable and productive evening staff.
Provide feedback to Department Managers and ASMs in the completion of performance reviews for the evening Associates.
Be fair and consistent in enforcing department procedures, company rules and policies and disciplining.
Address Associate complaints and resolve problems.
Develop and maintain good communication and working relationship with the night crew via the night crew chief.
Respond to customer and Associate accidents or emergencies calmly, and complete the required paperwork in a timely and thorough manner.
Ensure the proper receiving and unloading of PM deliveries.
Ensure security at all receiving areas, back doors and liquor area (if applicable).
Respond to refrigeration alarms and check all departments periodically for proper holding temperatures.
Check equipment daily for proper performance.
Follow closing cash office procedures by balancing Front End change drawer, cashier tills, and safe.
Ensure all funds are secured.
Performs other duties as requested or required by Management.
Essential Job Functions:

Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
Ability to perform math skills.
Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and occasionally lift 25 lbs.
Ability to work in varying temperatures.
Ability to work with a wide variety of fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences.
Meet all work schedules.
NOTE:
ASSOCIATES MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO OPERATE BALERS, HI-LO'S, POWER JACKS AND SLICING MACHINES.
