Support production equipment and facility work.
Provide general engineering support to the company by seeking out engineering and other tasks to benefit the company.
Troubleshoot problems, implement timely solutions, and suggest GMP compliant temporary solutions where necessary to keep production running.
Perform all Level I items with less supervision.
Provides automation engineering support to requests by production for spare parts.
Help to maintain spare parts, parts databases and find alternate sources for spare parts (to reduce costs).
Project automation engineering contact who defines the automation requirements for new processes and equipment.
Meets project commitments by preparing and managing budgets and timelines.
Prepare and maintain project status and cost reports.
Ensure proper equipment selection by seeking out and evaluating multiple vendor proposals and make most purchase decisions independently.
Present analysis and recommend solutions for larger purchases (nominally > $50k) to management team.
Prepare work plans and coordinate the work of the maintenance team.
Write Preventive Maintenance and calibration SOP's.
Ensure satisfactory equipment performance by installing, commissioning, qualifying, and maintaining new automation equipment and modifications to existing equipment.
Review executed protocols.
Write and executes SOPs, Change Controls, Event Notifications, CAPA's and other GMP protocols.
Develop expertise in several areas and provides guidance to others:
Mass Preparation, Coating, Slitting, Fabrication, Secondary Packaging, Facility and Energy Center systems.
Know and follow all relevant safety codes and regulations.
Directs others in the proper resolution of technical problems by using acquired expertise.
Promotes teamwork by establishing and maintaining good relationships with peers.
Maintains technical competency by keeping informed about technologies.
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering At least 3 years' experience in a Pharmaceutical or Manufacturing environment.
Basic computer, mathematic, reading, writing and verbal skills Able to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, full face/half mask respirator, latex gloves, Tyvek suit and other safety equipment as needed.
Knowledgeable concerning automation principles, PLC (Siemens Step 7) and vision system software Able to balance daily production support with longer term project work.
Ability to draft electrical schematics in AutoCAD or Visio Ability to lift or move 1-24 pounds Occasional Travel Works some overtime, off-shift, and weekend work as necessary to meet production requirements and project deadlines.
