Veterinary Technician

Must be able to work well in a team and also independently.
Must have own transportation, be available for nights and weekends for inpatients.
Duties include:
Assist vets with exams.
Perform treatments (vaccines, nail trims, medications, anal glands, ear cleanings, etc.
) Perform dental radiographs (experience with dental rads preferred) and assist with surgeries.
Venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collections.
Accurately chart in medical record - both paper and computer.
Blood smears and microscope slide preparation.
Run blood work in house.
Complete specialty testing protocols (ACTH Stim, LDDS, Bile Acids, etc.
) Properly dispense medications as ordered.
Assist with front desk as needed.
Properly sanitize and keep facility clean.
Accurately keep documentation of controlled substances.
